About

A bookkeeper who
understands your business.

Why Summit exists, how we work, and what to expect when you bring your books to us.

Background

My story

Grant Peterson founded Summit Accounting Co. after working as a Construction Project Manager in Middle Tennessee while completing his undergraduate degree. Balancing full-time project responsibilities with school gave him early exposure to the operational and financial demands of running complex jobs and tight timelines.

During that time, he saw the importance of having clean, reliable books—and how accurate financials, clear communication, and strong visibility into the numbers help businesses stay organized, make confident decisions, and operate efficiently.

When you work with Summit, you work directly with Grant — not a rotating staff of junior accountants or an overseas team. A local professional who responds quickly, explains your numbers clearly, and treats your business like it matters.

Grant's clients are typically growth-oriented owners who've outgrown DIY bookkeeping and want a partner, not a portal. Whether you need monthly books handled quietly in the background or a full CFO-level financial partner, Summit meets you where you are today and scales with you.

Philosophy

Proactive, not reactive. Financial systems should reflect how your business actually operates, and planning should happen year-round — not just at tax time.

Small business owners deserve the same quality of financial oversight that larger companies take for granted. Summit Accounting Co. exists to close that gap — with clean books, clear numbers, and communication you can actually rely on.
